Maddie is a resilient little dog that was rescued out of California and suffered a bad case of mange back in August 2024 when she was first rescued. She's all healed up now and so much better off! Maddie is a happy, outgoing dog yet she had been waiting with little adoption interest in California for over a year. We decided to bring her up to Oregon for a better chance at landing a loving home.
- Approximately 2 years old and 18 pounds
- Likely a Chihuahua mix
- Loves people, social, and greets everyone with wiggly body languages, bouncing and a wagging tail
- Does good with other dogs and has lived with a variety of dogs and done well. She does need to be fed her meals in her crate during meal time as she can get a little snarky if other dogs approach while she is eating. But she has developed a good routine with this and is used to having her space in a crate to dine. She can take treats from the humans and shares her toys well with other dogs. It's just meals.
- Does well with children and has been around gentle kids as young as 2 years old and has been appropriate.
- We don’t quite have an assessment of Maddie with cats. Her only interaction was seeing feral cats and she barked at this. We will try to get a formal cat assessment on her.
- Does excellent with her potty habits
Maddie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and heartworm tested negative. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland.
$300 adoption fee
Fostered in West Linn, Oregon

All of our dogs are in foster homes that help them to learn to be good house guests. Our foster dogs thrive in a home environment rather than a scary shelter where they would become stressed. Plus we gain lots of good information about the dog's personalities in a foster home setting.
All foster homes are located within 45 minutes of Portland, Oregon. Once we receive your adoption application and chat with you, we will provide you the foster home's contact information that has the dog you're interested in meeting.
