My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Moxy and his sister, Roxy, KRLA-A-87598 were abandoned with their mother, Foxy, KRLA-A-87597 on 9/11/25 at one of my four colonies in Vernon.

Moxy was about 5 weeks old when found and very friendly and trusting just like his sister.

It was already a hot morning, and I had to leave them there as I was headed to work and could not keep them in a hot car.

I ended up racing back on my lunch break to get them. Back at work, I parked in the shade and had the windows rolled down enough for a breeze to flow thru the car, and left them there. I checked on them periodically and found the kittens content nursing off their mom.

Moxy and his sister, Roxy, are super high energy kittens who are constantly running and playing from the minute they wake up until I turn off the light to go to sleep. Thankfully they both sleep soundly thru the night. Moxy will play with my older cats and even jumps on them to wrestle with them. He is lightening fast and zooms with Roxy like a little formula one racing car through out the house from room to room.

I am hoping Moxy and his sister, Roxy, get adopted together as they are constantly playing and ultimately fall asleep together.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
