My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shadow, a beautiful 10-year-old girl with a heart full of loyalty and so much love to give. Shadow faithfully stayed by her owner’s side during recovery from a hip replacement—truly a devoted, constant companion. Sadly, due to ongoing health challenges, her owner could no longer care for her, and Shadow came into our rescue.

Once we spent more time with her, we discovered that Shadow is far more than “independent” — she is incredibly affectionate. She loves being petted and starts purring almost instantly when you touch her. She has the most expressive tail that happily whips and swishes when she’s content, and she absolutely enjoys chatting with her people. She will happily carry on little conversations with you throughout the day.

Shadow would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can bond closely with her person. She has previously lived with other cats and small dogs and may do well with gentle companions, given proper introductions.

She has excellent litter box habits, is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had full bloodwork. She is a healthy senior with no medical concerns.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will purr the moment you reach for her, Shadow may be your perfect match.

Go meet their pets

We are a small rescue without a facility so we rely on volunteers to temporarily house the animals until adopted. Because the animals are in private foster homes, we need to make arrangements for a visit to happen. Please email us for further information. Additionally, we have adoption events throughout the year - check out our Facebook for a current listings. We do private adoption visits with approved applicants.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets. Since we help people receiving hospice care, heading into nursing homes, or families after the pet owner died, we often receive older animals. WE value older animals and cherish all that they can offer to their new family. We do not have a physical facility, so we rely on volunteers to foster the pets in their home until they are adopted.
