Turk-E is a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix, 8 pounds of all legs with a gentle, sensitive soul. He can be a little shy, but truly blossoms when his brother Hammy is nearby. With a confident canine friend around, Turk-E gains courage and comfort.
Hammy is a 3-year-old Chihuahua, also 8 pounds, and built a bit more solidly. He is incredibly sweet, loves toys, and never misses an opportunity to give kisses. Hammy is the more confident of the two and helps guide Turk-E through new situations.
These boys are often found cuddled together, but they also enjoy lap time or cozy naps next to their people. They are crate trained, good in the car, walk okay on leash, and do well with other dogs. A home with kids over 12 would be best.
Medical note:
Hammy is heartworm positive and has already started treatment, which is a 3–4 month process. He may be adopted now if the adopter is willing to continue treatment with our rescue’s vet at the rescue’s expense. Or the adopter may transfer care to their own vet and cover remaining treatment costs.
We would love for Turk-E and Hammy to stay together, as they clearly bring comfort to each other. However, they could be separated only if Turk-E goes to a home with a friendly, confident dog to help him feel secure.

The minimum adoption donation amount for both together is $550. If adopted separately, their adoption amount is a minimum of $345 each.
They are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.

Approval doesn’t mean you have been chosen for the pet you applied for. But, if approved you will be for 6-months before reapplying is reqd

Our hope is that a love match is made. If all parties are in agreement, you may adopt at this first meeting. Some dogs may require xt meets

All dogs are in loving foster homes. Thus, we will only arrange meetings with approved adopters.
