My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Shay was brought in by a community member on October 28, 2025.

Why Shay might be the one for you:
Meet Shay Natalia Gee, a sweet and energetic dog in search of a loving new home! Shay keeps herself quietly occupied with toys and naps in her kennel. Outside her kennel, she can get excited and jumpy, but calms down with the help of some tasty treats and guidance. She will thrive with lots of exercise and enrichment to use up some of her natural energy before she settles in for pets and snuggles. Due to her excitable nature, Shay is looking for a home without young children (under 6) and where she can be the only pet. She is a smart cookie, making positive reinforcement training a breeze. A consistent routine and fun, engaging activities will help Shay get used to her new home and feel like part of her new family! Come ask about adopting her today.

At SDHS:
Shay has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Shay is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
