Behavioral issues

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Monty is a very sweet, curious and playful dog. He’s fully house trained, crate trained, and knows a handful of tricks. He’s highly intelligent and is incredibly athletic (fast and can jump 5 feet with ease). He LOVES other dogs and will play with them as long as he is allowed. He has never shown aggression with people, and only recently been courageous enough to set boundaries with other dogs.

He comes from a rescue where he was found with 17 other dogs. He has a bad fear with young men and does not let his guard down around them. I’ve had him for 2 years and he still doesn’t trust me (im a 6’3 25 year old male). I’m looking for a home where he can learn to trust the person he is with instead of living in constant “flight” mode. He’s obsessed with my sister, my mom, and is comfortable with my older dad. I just can’t keep taking care of him knowing he doesn’t want to be around me and I am a trigger for his anxiety.

He is great on leash, and when he knows his safe space will relax.
