My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

GANDALF

This sophisticated young man is wise beyond his…well, months. He’s quite a calm and reserved little kitten who doesn’t mind just relaxing in his own company. Don’t let his sometimes-aloof behavior fool you though; he is actually super friendly and a real cuddle bug. He’s just very comfortable in his own beautiful thick grey fur!

Gandalf (The Grey) loves to play and race around with his siblings, and above all, is a superb climber. He was the first of his litter to scale the tall scratching post and their large hex pen. Like his siblings, he loves crawling under and over tent-cities made of towels and blankets. One of his very favorites is to play trampoline on them (gently – over a soft surface). He adores toys of all sorts, especially small soft ones that he can pounce on, along with empty TP and paper towel rolls and dangling feathers and ribbons. He has conquered many assorted empty boxes, pop-up tunnels, and wall shelves in the playroom and is considering leading a team to Everest next May.

He is a super chill, cuddly little man and would be an excellent Furever Friend in a new forever home.

**If the adoptive family would like to have photos/videos of Gandalf from birth, please leave your preferred contact information with Emily or Karen at the desk at the time of adoption and the Foster family will be happy to share.

Additional adoption info

Please visit our website, heartlandhumane.org, specifically our Adoptions page (heartlandhumane.org/adoptions/), for up-to-date information on adoption procedures.

Things to know:

• We reserve the right to deny an adoption if the animal will not be a good fit for your home.
• Adoption fees must be paid at the time of adoption (see below for a table of current adoption fees).
• Dogs: If you have a dog in your home already, you will need to schedule a dog-to-dog meet at the shelter before your adoption can be approved.
• Cats and small animals: We do not have the ability to do pet meets with cats or small animals prior to adoption. However, we can counsel you on safely introducing a new pet into the home, and will always take our animals back if an adoption does not work out.
• We require that animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If an animal is not yet fixed, you may place a hold on it until it is ready to be adopted.
Heartland will always take our animals back if an adoption does not work out.

[Adoption fees must be paid at the time of adoption. We accept cash and credit/debit for adoption fees. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, appropriate vaccinations and parasite treatments, collar and tags (if appropriate), leash/carrier, free local veterinarian exam, and an optional one month of free pet insurance.]
