My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruthie is a shy, sensitive girl who takes a little time to feel safe, but once she knows you, she is incredibly loving and wants to be by your side as much as possible. She enjoys being cradled like a baby and loves gentle scratches on her head, tummy, and chin. Ruthie is quite vocal when she’s lonely or hungry and will happily remind you when it’s mealtime.

She loves catnip toys and sleeps with her favorite purple purring cat. Because she is nervous and skittish, Ruthie would do best in a quiet home without young children or other animals. She is litter box trained, but cleanliness is very important to her—daily scooping and regular full cleanings are a must, as stress or a dirty box can cause her to urinate outside the box. She has never had issues with going outside the box otherwise.

She had a vaccine reaction as a kitten, and her veterinarian recommends she not receive additional vaccines. She has otherwise been very healthy. As a Himalayan/Persian, Ruthie requires regular grooming to prevent matting. She does well with consistent brushing and is typically kept comfortable with a lion cut a few times a year. A groomer who does not require vaccines will be necessary.

Ruthie is spayed and microchipped, routinely treated for fleas and worms, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV and heartworm. Her estimated DOB is 11/11/2020.

Additional adoption info

All of our cats/kittens come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org, which includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new furbaby into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours.

To ensure healthy development, we do not adopt out single kittens under 4 months old unless there is already another cat in the home. Kittens learn essential behaviors from other felines, and early socialization reduces the risk of future behavioral issues.
