Cat located in this city: Daytona Beach
Cat’s Name: Eli (Orange Tabby)
Cat’s Age & Sex: 5 year old male
Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): neutered with fully updated vaccines and inactive microchip - Annual appointment to be done December 19th, 2025.
Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): Eli is our family cat that we have had since adoption as an older kitten from the Humane Society. We love him VERY much and are so sad to rehome him but must as after we had our child - we realized Eli can get nervous with the young kids we have. He has swiped before when nervous and is not safe around our small child.
Eli does great with teens and adults! Eli will come out to greet guests, rubbing up against their legs and looking for pets! He is truly an awesome cat but just needs a home without the loudness and grabbiness of young children that don’t understand.
Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Eli is a very cuddly cat and loves to sit in your lap for pets on his head and quality time with his humans. He is a great companion for tv show marathons or working from home! Eli prefers head pets and not pets on his low back, he is particular. Eli will let you pet him for 20-30 seconds and then likes to be on his way. He does not like rough petting or play. This is why we needneed the right home for him Eli loves to play with area rug corners and crinkle toys!
Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): food, litter, toys, bedding, cat carrier
What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): dry only; uses water fountain-but we just learned why wet food is so important (we had no idea). We do hope in next home he can get wet food daily !!! Learn more below.
:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).

IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT:
1)Small adoption fee of: $25
2) I will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well.
3) Please show up with your Driver's License.
4) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine)
*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.

More about this rescue
Furry Nation Salvation, Inc. is a foster based all-volunteer non-profit animal rescue organization located in Florida. We commit our resources throughout Volusia County and surrounding areas in finding permanent homes for abandoned, unwanted, and neglected animals. Run by dedicated volunteers, our work is a heartfelt collaboration in making a difference for the innocent animals without a voice. Our foster volunteers “one on one” care help us to determine the animals true personality to best fit them into their forever home. We also promote, practice, and work, in the area of TNR (trap, neuter, return). This method of population reduction and control for feral cats has proven to be successful and we are committed to this method. FNS strives to educate the public on the importance of spay and neutering their pets and provide locations where they are able to do so at a discounted price. We assist in transporting animals to and from veterinary clinics, and help individuals place their unwanted pet who would otherwise be dumped at an animal shelter with an uncertain future. We do so by utilizing social media and animal adoption sites and always making ourselves available with support and advice. We love what we do and together we make a difference for so many. Furry Nation Salvation does not have a facility and rely on foster homes for our rescued animals. Our current goal is to establish a dedicated rescue facility to be able to help even more animals in need.
