Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Elowyn! Elowyn is a sweet senior with a name as pretty as she is. Although she may hiss or grumble when you first open her cage, once you reach a calm hand out she enjoys ear scratches and being held. Since Elowyn came to us as a stray, we aren`t sure how she does with other animals, although she has coexisted with other cats in the adoption room with no issue. Elowyn is a big fan of treats and comfy beds and would love a calm, quiet house to call her own! While with us she has shown no issues with the litterbox and has used hers like a pro. If you think Elowyn sounds like the purrfect addition to your home, come meet her today!

Our mission is to promote humane principles, protect lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals, and act as advocates for animals in our communities.
Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) was established in 1952 and is the only open- admission shelter in Butler County, Ohio. In 2009, AFHS relocated from its outdated facility in Trenton and now occupies a 22,500 sq. foot facility with top-notch amenities for its shelter population in Hamilton, Ohio. By adopting nationally recognized best practices for animal shelters, AFHS has been successful in increasing its overall save rate and hit a record high of 94% in 2020. Assisting over 5,000 pets each year, AFHS is committed to providing individual care to local pets in need. As Butler County’s largest and oldest 501(c)3 non-profit animal shelter, AFHS is always in need of community support to continue its lifesaving mission. Adopt, Volunteer, Donate to help save more lives!
