My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Lev. I’m a big bunny with an even bigger heart, and I’m looking for my forever home. I came to the shelter because my previous owner loved me, but couldn’t give me the proper care I deserve anymore. Because I’m a large rabbit, I need proper rabbit care to thrive: plenty of space to stretch out, a healthy diet of hay and fresh greens, regular grooming, and gentle handling from someone who understands rabbits. I’m not a “starter pet”—I’m a commitment, and I’m worth it. I have a calm, thoughtful presence and would do best with someone who’s ready to give me time, patience, and the right setup to live my best bunny life. If you’re looking for a companion who will quietly steal your heart and fill your home with soft thumps and nose twitches, I might be your guy.

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
