My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby came to the shelter with two other pups, learn more about him and his friends by reading on! These three babies are three-month-old mysteries! We believe they are Lab and Shepherd mixes, but their unique coloring (especially Winnie’s) keeps us guessing in the best way possible. While we know these darlings will eventually grow into large dogs, for now, they are adorable little ones with sweet voices, curious minds, and playful spirits. They are so silly together, they constantly make us crack up! These three would make the perfect companions for almost any home.

These three are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on their vaccines. You can visit them at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

Cat and Dog survey may be filled out online at babinskifoundation.org, or in person at the facility.

Approve Application

The staff will review your application! Please bring all necessary documents such as pet lease agreements signed by your landlord.

Pay Fee

OUR MISSION

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.
The Babinski Foundation is a private 501c3 animal shelter located in Pequot Lakes, MN. We are a safe place to surrender dogs and cats. We also are a stray drop-off facility for stray cats and dogs.

OUR STORY

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
