Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Lucy is a very sweet dog, I found her in January roaming around my neighborhood. I think she was dumped by someone. She is a little shy at first but when she warms up to you she’s super cuddly and loves to lick you. I have a Virgo who has been her best friend and they get along great. They took a while to warm up to each other due to my corgi being territorial. She has all of her shots, she’s up to date on her heartworm, flea, and tick. She is spayed and chipped as well. Since being with me she has learned how to walk on a leash and has gotten better about riding in the car but she still will need someone who’s willing to work with her. She’s potty trained and has gotten much better about chewing as she’s grown up. I have a chain link fence and she does jump it but she does not dig."

Additional adoption info
To confirm an animal's location, please call the shelter 409-833-0504 to ask if an animal is at the shelter or in foster care. We work really hard to ensure each pet goes into a home that is the best fit for them and the new family. This is why a session with a Matchmaker is required. Adoptions are on a first approved basis.

Originally formed as the Humane Educational Council of Southeast Texas in 1962, the primary focus was to educate the public on animal care and compassion. In 1981, our name changed to Humane Society of Southeast Texas (HSSET) but our goals and values remain the same. HSSET is devoted to building a better community for both pets and people through education programs and setting a new standard for companion animal care.
The HSSET is a non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization run entirely on grants, donor contributions, community volunteers, and a lot of love.
Our shelter is a limited intake no-kill facility serving not only the City of Beaumont, but the entire Southeast Texas region.
