Meet Cassian
Cassian arrived in Wisconsin on transport on 1/17/26 and is settling into his foster home after
coming from a kill shelter in Georgia. He is a gentle giant with an old soul who is ready to find a
forever home where he can finally feel safe and loved.
Cassian is a 6-year-old German Shepherd mix. Before entering the shelter system, he was
found as a stray on the side of the road where he was likely dumped. He waited patiently in the
same spot for nearly two weeks for his owners to return. Despite everything he has been
through, Cassian is incredibly kind, gentle, and resilient. He is a beautiful boy with a calm
presence and a very sweet heart.
Cassian is very smart and already knows several commands, including come, sit, stay, down,
and watch me. He is potty trained and likely crate trained, though his foster currently allows him
to free roam when left home alone. He walks well on a leash and enjoys being around people.
He has spent time with children ages 8, 5, and 3 and did wonderfully with them. He is a great
dog all around and is looking somewhere to call his forever home.
One of Cassian’s only challenges is that while he loves getting into the car for rides, he can be
hesitant to get out. This is likely connected to past trauma from being abandoned, and his foster
is actively working with him on this.
