"A mother’s work is never done", but Mama Bear is officially ready for retirement! This stunning 3-year-old Great Pyrenees was found as a stray with three puppies. A wonderful foster family kept this sweet family safe—and now that her pups are weaned, Mama Bear is ready to start her own "Happily Ever After."
👑 Queen of Gentle Giants: Mama Bear is the definition of the Great Pyrenees spirit—gentle, sweet and affectionate. While she was a hero to her babies, she is now ready to be the center of your world.
🏠 Polite Houseguest: Mama relaxes calmly indoors and has proven to be a super polite, well-behaved lady.
🐕 Ultimate Guardian: True to her breed, she is observant! She recently alerted her foster family to a coyote, yet she is respectful and ignores the livestock she shares a fence with.
🥰 Social & Friendly: Dog-friendly and loves people.

The shelter is located at 589 Coolwater Drive in Bastrop Texas. Please come meet our pets Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
