Copper #22390 9/9/22
Male; mixed breed
Estimated age 3years
Approximate weight 45#
Heartworm negative
UPDATE: Due to some inclement weather we had to move around a lot of dogs. Copper (due to his small size) was moved to a 5x5 kennel in the office. He has come totally out of his shell and is a DIFFERENT DOG!! Apparently the loud kennel setting kept this little fella on edge. He would be a perfect dog for a home with a secure fence.
Copper is a nervous little guy. He has been with us over two years and has come a long way. He will do best in a home with a confident female dog that he can bond with and feel secure. He will need a fenced yard so he can stay safe. He is a great size and a healthy boy. All he needs is a family that will have patience and allow him time to feel at home. If you would like to meet Copper.

HAA is a group of volunteers moving dogs from the Hardeman County animal control kill facility. We place them in a shelter that is located in the county landfill, but operated by the HAA volunteers. The dogs are then evaluated, cared for by a veterinarian if necessary, and placed on our list of available, adoptable dogs. All dogs taken in are strays, owner surrenders or breeder throwaways. HAA protects the dogs from euthanasia, adopt them out to appropriate homes or deliver them to rescue groups who can place them. Very seldom do we know the history of the dogs.
The county has agreed to let volunteers run the shelter within limits. They will let us care for the dogs and try to get them adopted out. Our job is to keep the shelter from getting full. Once it is full then dogs will be put down. We are always in need of people to help care for the dogs. We also need supplies and money for medical attention.
We are a 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are tax deductible. We have an account set up at the local vet for anyone wishing to help with medical funds: Old Hatchie Veterinary Clinic, 1017 N. Main St, Bolivar, TN 38008 will accept funds in our account, "Hardeman Adoptable Animal." For vet clinic credit card donations, please call 731-658-3555. We thank you for any and all help.
For information, please call one of the volunteers. Charla Cooper - 731-234-4421, Elizabeth Hensley - 731-609-2059, Jennifer Smallwood - 731-609-0408
