My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you’ve ever dreamed of a dog who believes personal space is overrated, Tilly might just be your perfect match. She is a certified Velcro dog—always happiest when curled up beside you, leaning against you, or volunteering as a lap warmer. Once Tilly chooses their person, that bond runs deep and loyal.

Tilly is affectionate, gentle, and thrives on one-on-one time with their humans. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working from home, or heading out for a walk, she will be right there, soaking up every moment together. This pup does best in a calm, predictable environment where they can feel secure and connected.

When it comes to other dogs, Tilly can be selective and prefers slow, thoughtful introductions. They may do best as the only dog in the home or with a compatible canine friend who respects their space. Because of this, continued guidance, structured introductions, and an adopter who understands dog body language will help her feel confident and successful.

Tilly is house trained, crate trained, spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in meeting her please fill out a non-binding application at forrescue.net and her foster mom will be in touch.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable animals are fostered in loving homes throughout Huntsville, Alabama and the surrounding area. Because we do not operate a physical shelter, meet-and-greets are arranged by appointment only—typically after an adoption application has been submitted and approved.

For out-of-town adopters, we’re happy to offer virtual meet-and-greets to help you get to know your future furry family member before adoption or transport.

More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama with transport locations throughout the Great Lakes and New England. FOR is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2009.

Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from overcrowded Southern shelters where limited space, minimal funding, and high intake rates often lead to euthanasia.

We are not professional trainers or animal behaviorists—just dedicated individuals working together to give these animals a second chance. Every pet in our program lives in a loving foster home and receives age-appropriate veterinary care while awaiting adoption.

Our ultimate goal is to match each animal with a committed, compassionate individual or family who will provide a FORever home.
