Josie is a 1.5-year-old, 35lb Pittie mix with a bright, happy personality. She is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic obedience. Josie is an outgoing girl, but not overwhelming, and she has an impressive vertical jump (which is why she requires a privacy fence) and she’s currently working on greeting people with a polite sit.
Josie lives with many other dogs in her foster home, but she has shown us there are some things she does not like to share .. such as her humans’ affection. Which is why she is labelled as needing to be an only pet in the home. She also has some prey drive toward cats and squirrels and is still learning better leash manners.
Josie came to us from a small rural shelter in South Carolina. She has been thriving in her foster home and is a fun mix of adventure and snuggle partner. Black Dog Syndrome is very real, add to that she is also a pittie mix and needing to be an only dog and we know we are looking for a one in a million adopter. We know there is the perfect family or person out there who will appreciate her lust for life and sweet, loving, and loyal nature.
Josie is looking for:
• A home where she is the only pet
• Someone who enjoys an active dog with a zest for life, but also a good cuddle
Adoption Info:
We adopt and transport throughout much of the United States.

Inspired by then 5-year old Roman, Project Freedom Ride has grown organically since 2016 having helped save over 5,000 dogs. At just 4 years old Roman learned that not all dogs make it out of the shelter alive. Fast forward, Roman is now 14, and still on a mission to help the underdog. We work closely with shelters near us in Georgia, as well as with rescue partners in Texas. All dogs are then properly vetted for transport before heading to eagerly awaiting adopters or receiving rescue partners.
