This little kitten is Olive. She and her two siblings were found living under a house in the Monroeville area by a kind colony caretaker.
Olive started off nervous, scared, and untrusting of people. Now Olive is much more confident and thriving in her new indoor lifestyle. She needs a little time to warm up to human interaction but she gets more brave every day with her foster mom. She has even gotten brave enough to solicit some brief attention on her own. She’s also learning that being brushed is actually nice, and helps maintain her beautiful long black fur with white highlights. Olive loves to play, beg for wet food, eat all the snacks, play with toys, bird watch, and sunbathe. She is still a little squirmy to handle for routine care, however she’s still learning and adapting. Little Olive has even found her voice and is starting to quietly purr and chirp. Listen closely or else you’ll miss it!
Olive would benefit from owners with a touch of patience to allow her time to acclimate to her new home. She’s nervous around small children so she may do best with older kids or adults who understand to go at her pace. She’s best introduced with some food bribes or wand toys, she can be petted while she eats. Olive loves other cats, and she must go home either with one of her siblings or to a home with another active, playful cat companion. Olive likes to play and wrestle with her kitty friends. She’s met the same family dog a couple of times but was a bit nervous. She may prefer a home without dogs.

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

Interview
We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

Meet the Pet
Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

Sign Adoption Contract
At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.
