Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"King is is a loving, affectionate senior dog looking for a calm and caring forever home. He has a gentle soul and forms strong bonds with the people he loves. He enjoys being close, soaking up affection, and spending quality time with his human. He still has a great zest for life and absolutely loves running, outdoor walks, and being surrounded by nature. He would be a perfect companion for someone who enjoys an outdoorsy lifestyle walks, trails, or simply spending time outside.King gets along well with cats and other animals, as well as female dogs. He may not do well with other male dogs, so he would be happiest as the only male dog in the home. He would thrive in a peaceful environment with someone patient and kind who understands the loyalty and love an older dog brings. In return, he’ll offer endless affection, companionship, and a devoted heart."

Additional adoption info
To confirm an animal's location, please call the shelter 409-833-0504 to ask if an animal is at the shelter or in foster care. We work really hard to ensure each pet goes into a home that is the best fit for them and the new family. This is why a session with a Matchmaker is required. Adoptions are on a first approved basis.

Originally formed as the Humane Educational Council of Southeast Texas in 1962, the primary focus was to educate the public on animal care and compassion. In 1981, our name changed to Humane Society of Southeast Texas (HSSET) but our goals and values remain the same. HSSET is devoted to building a better community for both pets and people through education programs and setting a new standard for companion animal care.
The HSSET is a non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization run entirely on grants, donor contributions, community volunteers, and a lot of love.
Our shelter is a limited intake no-kill facility serving not only the City of Beaumont, but the entire Southeast Texas region.
