Chicken is about two years old, and like so many of us, he’s stepping into the New Year after a big life change. His person faced several challenges and made the loving but difficult decision to give him up, hoping Chicken could find the stable, peaceful home he deserves.
Chicken arrived at Homeward Bound about ten days ago — and oh boy, did he have thoughts about it. 😼
At first, he was understandably stressed and very vocal, letting us know exactly how he felt about all the changes. We listened. We reassured him. We told him it was okay… and that a new home was just around the corner.
Slowly but surely, Chicken is beginning to blossom.
These days, he’s showing us who he really is: a calm, easygoing guy who enjoys long naps, cozy lounging, and observing the world at his own pace. He still greets you with those cautious, slightly sassy eyes (they’re part of his charm 😉), but once he trusts you, Chicken is affectionate, loyal, and quietly devoted.
Chicken gets along well with other pets and would thrive in a peaceful, stable environment where he can relax and feel safe. When he’s comfortable, he’ll happily follow you around, keep you company, and let you know what’s on his mind — because yes, he does love to use his voice.
If you’re welcoming the New Year with an open heart and space for a mellow, lovable cat with a big personality, Chicken might just be your perfect match. 💛
Come meet him and see if your home is the loving home he’s been waiting for. 🐾✨

More about this shelter
Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cats and people in our community. We provide counseling, information, and resources to empower people to support their cats and others in the community. If cats cannot stay with their families or neighborhoods, we prioritize our intake on cats most at risk - cats in need of rehoming; kittens who need specialized care; and cats who have been abandoned, are sick or injured, or are not thriving in the community. We are committed to ensuring the highest level of attention and care for cats in our adoption program and provide a modern, free-roaming adoption center to minimize stress, serve the individual needs of each cat, and set up both cats and adopters for success.
