My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Anubis! 🐾🩶🤍
Anubis is a 5-year-old grey and white tabby with the cutestttt round face you’ve ever seen—and a personality to match her strong sense of self. This girl is very opinionated and knows exactly what she likes (and what she doesn’t). She is nice when she wants to be and can be affectionate, but only on her terms. Pets are welcome when she decides, and she’s very clear about her boundaries.

Because Anubis is not shy about communicating, she will scratch or bite if her limits aren’t respected. For that reason, she is looking for a very specific home: No kids, no cats, and no dogs—just an experienced, cat-savvy adult who understands feline body language and respects personal space. When given that respect, Anubis can be a rewarding companion with moments of affection and plenty of personality.

Anubis isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay—she’s looking for her person. A calm, quiet home where she can rule her space, be admired from a respectful distance, and receive love on her own schedule is exactly what she deserves. If you appreciate a cat with boundaries, sass, and a truly unforgettable face, Anubis may be your perfect match. 🐱

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
