Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mayonnaise!
Mayonnaise is a one-year-old guy with a big personality and a playful spirit. He loves to stretch out and lounge like he owns the place, and when he’s in the mood, playtime is one of his favorite things. Wand toys, space to zoom, and a comfy spot to sprawl are right up his alley.
Mayonnaise can become overstimulated easily, so he’s looking for a cat-savvy home with someone who is patient and willing to listen to his body language and respect his boundaries. He does best with people who understand that sometimes he needs a break and space to reset.
Because of this, Mayonnaise would be happiest in a home with older children who can interact appropriately. We haven’t seen him with other cats or dogs, if there are other animals in the home, he must have a slow introduction to them.
If you’re someone who enjoys getting to know a cat on their terms and appreciates a playful companion who just needs a little understanding, Mayonnaise might just be the one for you!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
