My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say Hello to Miss Pretty Nosey!

Miss Pretty is an 8 year old female orange cat looking for a quiet cozy home and gentle safe human to call her own. Sensitive and shy, this sweet girl needs more time and space than the average cat to adjust to new people and places. Once she gets to know you Miss Pretty will show off her sweet affectionate side, giving soft headbutts and sweet purrs to that purrfect person she calls her own.

Miss Pretty Nosey would likely do best in a quiet, more low traffic home free from loud noises and frequent disturbance. If there are kiddos in her forever home, she would do best with older kids who can understand her boundaries and give her the space she needs.

She has lived with other cats previously, but will need a slow introduction to any potential feline friends in her forever home. A slow intro will help ensure that both Miss Pretty and her new cat companions feel safe and comfortable as they adjust to each other`s presence.

Looking for a sweet and mellow cat to give a quiet, loving home to? Stop by the Humane Society of Summit County today and meet Miss Pretty Nosey!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
