Meet Patches, a 3 year old Cattle Dog mix from Texas.
Patches came to us scared and alone: she had been abandoned by her previous owner & spent far too long isolated from canine friends. Slowly, we were able to remind her of just how FUN it is to be a dog—and it’s been such a pleasure to see her open up & be carefree again.
Patches has no fear towards humans & absolutely loves attention. She will ham it up for a belly rub: our staff say she looks like a little baby all splayed out on the floor. When you come in the room, Patches will be the first one to greet you with a biiiiiigggggg stretchhhhhh and a wiggly butt. She listens well to her handlers responsive to corrections, and will gladly take praise & affection.
In her foster home, Patches is THRIVING. She’s found her favorite way to do things & has the cutest little quirks. Patches loves her crate & is well potty trained. Her foster says she has a great energy level: not at all hyper but can match your speed for an adventure. When it’s time to settle, she likes to drag her dog bed *on top* of the couch for ultimate comfiness.
In her first days with us, Patches was wary about making news friends. But, boy how this girl has grown! At her first playgroup with 3 other dogs, she showed so much trust & affection to her new pals. (She even licked a new friend's ears. Such a caretaker!) Her foster mom is working on all her commands—and they are even learning how to play fetch. (Patches loves it!) Her dream would be to have space to run, play, and belly rub with you—ideally 1000% of the time.

The adoption fee is $550 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordatella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2-6 months of heartworm preventative according to age, a microchip with an instant lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!
Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives.
