Meet Toast! 🐾 This 2-year-old FIV+ gentleman is a little shy but full of heart. Toast loves having his own space to retreat and recharge, especially when the world feels a bit too busy. He’s looking for a patient, understanding person who can give him the independence he needs while also enjoying the moments when he’s ready for affection and pets.
Because Toast is FIV+, we generally don’t recommend he live with FIV-negative cats. While transmission is low, it’s not impossible—but no matter the setup, he’ll give all his love to the right person.
Found as a stray, Toast’s past is a mystery, but his future can be bright with a calm, loving home. If you’re looking for a selective cuddle buddy who will come to you on his own terms, Toast might just be your perfect match.

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
