Hyperion is a shy orange boy who shows glimmers of a rambunctious personality once he's decompressed. Although it takes some time for him to come out of his shell, he's shown his foster family that he does love people, bumping his little head against their hand to signal that he wants pets and purring when they enter the room. He can be as playful as a little kitten and a toy collector, finding toys around the house and storing them in a secret hiding spot when he's done. Hyperion is also food motivated, so definitely don't leave his favorite treats, churus, unattended! With the right amount of time and patience, Hyperion will become the sweetest companion.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
