Here's what the humans have to say about me:

8-year-old Bluey was found stray. His rescuer got in touch with HBHR and brought him to a clinic where he could wait out his stray hold before being neutered. Bluey was found to be positive for heart worms. He is doing well after completing a month of Doxycycline. He will be adopted with a years’ supply of Advantage Multi to complete the slow kill treatment.

Bluey is a sweet laid-back beagle who is active and happy to be out exploring the yard and patrolling for varmints! He interacts well with the other members of the pack and is very tolerant of the younger pups. He was recently found on his back with 3 young females crawling all over him. He was enjoying all the attention and didn’t mind having his ears gnawed on!

Bluey has great house manners and is quiet for a hound. He loves attention and will roll over for a belly rub anytime he thinks he has a willing human! He will make a wonderful companion for any sized family…very kid friendly! Give this sweet boy a chances the good life!

1.
Submit Application

The first step in our adoption process is the completion of our on-line application to adopt. The application can be found on our website.

2.
Approve Application

Go to our website www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org and click on the link "About Adoption." After receiving your application, we will contact you.

3.
Home Check

Once your application is approved, a volunteer will bring the beagle to your home to meet your family and pets, and approve the adoption..

4.
Meet the Pet

You are invited to attend our monthly meet and greets without completing an application, but no adoption can take place before applying.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is for interested parties to complete the on-line adoption application found on our website. We require an adoption fee ($300 for purebred beagles and coon hounds; $250 for mixes; $200 for special needs or seniors 8 years +; and $350 for pups age 8 mo. or younger) and an adoption contract. ALL dogs will be vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption!

We typically have meet & greet events on the second Sunday of each month, from noon to 3:00 p.m. and will always bring several of the rescued beagles to that event, so look up the location of the month on our website, and come meet some adorable beagles! We also periodically hold special activities, and occasionally attend Houston-area adoption events which will be listed on our "events" section of our website. Our quarterly newsletter is published on our website at www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org
