My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 5 years

Say hello to Apricot! This sweet fella has had a bit of a rough go, but is looking forward to a fresh start with a new family! Apricot is a loving and sweet cat but can get overstimulated and my try to nip or swat, or may even do so if he`s looking for attention so his new family should ensure that they are always watching his body language! As well, apricot may have some neurological issues, along with some anxiety that would benefit from regular monitoring with a veterinarian, and should see a specialist about his possible neurological issues, but our adoptions team can give you all of the details about that when you come to meet him. Apricot was noted by his previous owner to have a potential aversion to cats, so may do best as the only cat in the home. Overall, Apricot is a lovely boy that just needs a patient and understanding home that can help him through any challenges he may face. Come say hi today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
