My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Banda! THRIVING IN FOSTER! HOUSE-TRAINED & CRATE-TRAINED! GREAT WITH OTHER DOGS! SEE UPDATES BELOW.

This one-year-old Basenji/Corgi mix is eager to please and all 50 pounds of him can't wait to cozy up on your lap!

In spite of being neglected and failed by those who were supposed to love him, Banda has the most endearing and uplifting way about him. Chained up and starved, Banda was also diagnosed with parvo before coming to GLDR. His owners refused to treat so they surrendered him to our rescue partner where he received the care he needed. This boy is a survivor who deserves only THE BEST family out there!

House-trained and crate-trained, Banda aims to please. His outgoing personality and brilliant smile light up any room he's in. Banda's calling in life is to make you feel special. He does this by showing all the affection he can with kisses and wiggles! He likes to alternate his time between cuddling with his people and playing with an abundance of toys. Tough, durable toys are a must for this fun-loving boy. Banda enjoys all sorts of treat and sits nicely for them. His foster parents are able to take toys and treats away with no issue.

Banda enjoys his time outdoors and will need a fenced-in yard to keep him safe. In exchange for a loving home, he will keep your yard free of those pesky rabbits and squirrels. Banda would thrive in an active, structured home with experienced owners who can provide daily exercise and lots of mental stimulation. He is deeply affectionate, intelligent, and bonds strongly with his people. He has done well with other dogs in the past, and could make a great pal for another energetic pup.

One smart pup, Banda already knows sit and is learning multiple commands. His leash skills are improving and he rides well in the car once he's settled. He's ready to join you on all of your adventures. He even tolerates bath time well. After playtime is done, Banda prefers to curl up with his people on the couch for some snuggle time. At the end of the day, he sleeps quietly through the night.

Based on our evaluation, we feel Banda would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. He may have the capacity to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby!

If you think he could be the guy for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our bubbly Banda!
