The name Elowen means “elm tree,” a symbol of strength, protection, and gentle beauty — a perfect match for this sweet, playful girl.
Elowen may be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and soon shows off her fun, goofy side. She loves to zoom around the house and will happily use you as her personal bumper to stop her momentum — so be ready for some playful drive-by cuddles! She adores her toys and is perfectly content sitting on the couch chewing on one while her brother and sister have an all-out wrestling match. After watching for a bit, she’ll jump in to play for a few minutes… then head right back to her toy like nothing happened. It’s the cutest balance of playful and independent. Elowen is very food and treat motivated, which makes her eager to learn, and she already goes into her crate when it’s time to eat — a great foundation for crate training and future routines.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..
If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.
