My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Babu’s story is the kind you don’t forget. She was found so frail and emaciated that she couldn’t even walk, and it was clear she’d been through far more than any dog ever should. Luckily, she was rescued and eventually made her way to us - weak, with sores across her body, but somehow still greeted us with a smile and a wagging tail.

From day one, Babu has been friendly with everyone she meets. Even after everything she went through, she’s stayed a truly sweet, upbeat girl. She’s spent a lot of time in foster care, where she’s been the very best houseguest - a cuddler at heart, a fan of cozy time with her temporary family, and always excited for a trip to the park where she can happily carry sticks around.

Now Babu is back at the shelter and we’re hoping this is the chapter where she meets her loving, forever family.

If this animal is located at our Manhattan Adoption Center, head in to meet them and see if you are a match! We are a same-day adoption center, and an application does not put you on a list or hold an animal for you. If they are in Wantagh or in a foster home, please submit an online application and our team will reach out to further discuss the adoption process. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given their age-appropriate vaccines.
