Marshmallow, "Mellow" has been well-loved for the past 7 years. My husband adopted him from the local shelter when he was a kitten as a two-year anniversary present to me. I never thought I'd be writing something like this, it breaks my heart.
We have a two-year-old, a four-month-old, and a dog. We moved homes over the summer. This poor guy has been through so much change and stress with all of it. He has been pooping outside of his litter box (inside it as well. It appears he can't make it to the box sometimes. It is loose stool) for months. We've taken him to the vet twice for it- they say it's stress. We've tried anxiety medication, we are not consistent enough with it (hard to give him meds). We can't expend any more time and energy investigating the problem, and we can't have poop in our home with small children. He does hiss and bat/scratch when under stress, but otherwise is sweet. He needs a low-stress environment and TLC that I just can't give him right now. Please help.
