Nyxi is a sweet 14-month-old Terrier mix weighing 16 pounds who is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can continue to feel safe and loved. She came into rescue with her brother, Dakota, when their dad was diagnosed with cancer and began treatment.
When Nyxi arrived, she was crawling with fleas and had lost much of her fur. With proper care, treatment, and good nutrition, she is now comfortable and healing—her coat is slowly growing back, and she continues to improve every day.
Nyxi does great with other dogs and enjoys their company. She also does fine with cats. She is very well house trained and, like her brother, has never been kenneled. Nyxi has lived a very quiet, sheltered life, so many normal experiences are new to her.
Nyxi has never been on a leash before coming into rescue and currently freezes when one is put on. Because of this, she will need a physically fenced yard, which is what she’s familiar with and where she feels safest. With patience and gentle encouragement, she will continue to gain confidence.
Nyxi would do best in a quiet, adult home. She has not been around small children and would be happiest in a low-key environment where she can settle in at her own pace.
Nyxi is a gentle soul who has already come a long way. With the right home and a little patience, she will make a loving, loyal companion.
Nyxi is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
