Meet Cheez-it, a toasted-orange classic tabby and certified Very Good Boy, known for collecting admirers like trading cards. Friendly, charming, and convinced that every human was put on Earth to pet him, Cheez-it has never met a stranger. He melts into laps, soaks up affection, and even wins over the vet staff.
Just under a year old, he still carries that bright kitten spark. In other words, he is peak orange-cat energy. Expect playfulness, affection, and enough emotional support purrs to power a small city.
Cheez-it came to us after surviving a broken leg that is still in the healing phase. Because of that injury, he was at risk of euthanasia at the shelter, but we swooped in just in time. X-rays and a full vet exam show he’s on the right track. For the next 2 to 3 weeks, his new family should limit his movement by keeping him in a small room and discouraging jumping or rowdy play. After that, follow-up X-rays are recommended to confirm he’s safe to explore the rest of his kingdom.
If his adopter uses our recommended vet, the rescue will cover the cost of that follow-up exam and visit. You’re also welcome to use your own vet at your own cost. Long-term, Cheez-it is expected to live a normal, happy life. He may just be a little more prone to arthritis once he’s a dapper senior, but for now he’s healing well and feeling hopeful.
✨ We’re participating in the Bring Home Love Challenge! ✨

Denver Kittens is focused on reducing animal suffering by pulling animals from high-euthanasia shelters, particularly harder-to-adopt animals, such as those with FIV or bonded pairs, and finding them loving homes in the Denver Metro Area. We also aim to reduce over-population, and therefore reduce animal suffering and euthanasia, by supporting trap, neuter, return efforts in our community and increasing access to spay and neuter.
