Group Info: Did you know that Snoopy was a beagle? Well this group of hound/beagle mix pups are here to show the world just why Charles Schultz modeled his canine character after their branch of the doggy tree. As the author said, “happiness is a warm puppy”, and the mushroom pups sure are warm and wonderful! Whatever personality you’re looking for in your new family member, there’s a match for you in this bunch. Equal parts the outdoor adventurer and loyal companion, they’re also super food motivated so training them is a real pleasure. They learned to all sit together as a group for treats within a few minutes of their foster mom introducing this new game to them. They’re starting to get the hang of their house-training skills, pottying as soon as they get outside and holding it for stretches of about an hour while indoors before needing to be taken out again. They’re also doing well sleeping in their own individual crates all lined up side by side and have been making it overnight, waking up when it starts to get light outside. All of them even did well for bathtimes and pedicures! They are such fun, eager-to-please, healthy, well-rounded pups!
So fun-loving and snuggly, Shiitake is also known by her foster family as Queen Cuddlebug. She’s very affectionate, melting into your arms to receive big hugs and then just settling right in. We’re not sure if she ever gets tired of a cuddle, since we’ve had to give all her siblings their share as well, but we suspect that Shiitake is going to prove that there’s no upper limit to how long she will stay in the arms of her family! When outdoor adventures are on the menu, Shiitake has a blast running in the yard, sniffing the smells like a good hound dog, and greeting new people as soon as they appear. She’s such a joyful treasure!

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.
If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
