Twelve years ago a friend of mine, who already had five cats, found two kittens in a place where she swore she couldn't leave them alone, but had no room for them. She asked for someone to foster them, and I volunteered, thinking it would be temporary. And I had some trouble adjusting to them; I have allergies and I can't drive so I can't get them to the vet on my own. and I didn't know how to re-home them myself. Anyway, I have been getting by taking care of them for twelve years, but I just lost my job, and my allergies are getting worse.
The short-haired one (Luna) is very friendly but doesn't always keep her claws to herself; she stays indoors naturally. The long-haired one (Moxie) has warmed up to me but doesn't like strangers, and sometimes wants to go outside for short periods of time. But they both need more attention than I can give them.
