My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bell a Sweet Senior Gentle Giant Looking for Her Forever Home

Bell is an 11-year-old English Mastiff with the kindest soul and the gentlest heart. She has been loved by her owner since she was just 4 months old. Sadly, due to her owner’s declining health after a heart attack and stroke, he has lost his mobility and is moving into an assisted living facility. While family members were able to take in his other two dogs, they were unable to take Bell because of her large size (126 lbs) and apartment living.

A family friend kindly stepped in to foster Bell, but it was discovered that Bell cannot tolerate cats, so she needs a cat-free home.

Bell is in great health for her age. She has a benign lipoma/cyst on her side that she has had for over 6 years and it doesn’t change, cause pain, or bother her at all. Otherwise, she has no medical issues.

True to her breed, Bell is a sweet, gentle, and calm companion. She’s a laid-back girl who enjoys lounging around, relaxing, and soaking up the quiet life. She especially loves laying outside and walking fence lines, making her a wonderful fit for a home with a yard. She would thrive as a peaceful, lazy companion. Bell needs a Cat free, Dog free and Child Free home. If you or someone you know can give Bell the home she deserves, please consider opening your heart to this amazing girl. 💛

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
