DOB 10-6-2024 Meet Kintsugi, a little lap cat with a heart of gold. Kintsugi showed up with a broken jaw and six 2-week-old babies, though she was still a kitten herself.
She was skinny and had been fending for herself and her babies and she became an indoor lap cat overnight. She purred constantly and LOVED being petted, seeming to realize her foster mom was there to help her. She took great care of her kittens, despite her challenges.
Fast forward a few months, kittens are all weaned, spayed/neutered, and found loving forever homes. Now Kintsugi could get the surgery she needed! This too was a long road for a little cat. After 2 surgeries and pate soup only for 6 weeks (she could only lap food not use her jaw at all while recovering, no toys, complete separation from all other pets), she healed beautifully and was finally fully cleared!
Throughout all of this, her loving, gentle nature never changed. When her foster mom bent over to stir her pate soup, she would routinely jump on her back, lay on the back of her neck, and touch her face gently with her paw, as if to say thank you. She is a talker and likes nothing better than to curl into a ball in your lap.
She had several teeth removed during the surgeries, but is now able to eat normally, including dry food. She can live a normal life, now she just needs to find her forever family.
She would do well with other cats or dogs with slow introduction. She has been around chihuahuas and cats. She is very people-oriented, she loves everyone she encounters, and just soaks up the love. She is ready to have everyday Mother’s Day and to be pampered and loved. In return, she will purr you a love song.
