Meet Bourbon. Smooth. Warm. And best enjoyed up close.
Bourbon is the kind of gentleman who knows what he likes, and what he likes most is people. Yes, he enjoys being outside. Fresh air. Sniffing opportunities. A respectable stroll. But make no mistake, the real main event is planting himself directly in front of a human and politely yet firmly requesting pets, eye contact, and a full appreciation of his many excellent qualities.
And those eyes.
Bourbon’s puppy dog eyes are doing some heavy lifting here. They’re deep, expressive, and wildly persuasive. You may approach intending to give “just one pat.” You will not leave on your own schedule.
When it comes to affection, Bourbon isn’t picky. He loves pats, scratches, and the kind of scritching that gets his face to say “Yes. Right there. You’re doing great.” He is generous with opportunities for connection and believes physical affection should be taken seriously.
Bourbon is currently heartworm positive and receiving treatment. He’s following activity restrictions like a responsible adult, even if he finds them personally offensive. While he’s not thrilled about the slowdown, he has fully embraced the silver lining: extra cuddle time, bonus pets, and extended lounging with his favorite people. If rest is required, he will rest directly next to you.
Think of Bourbon like his namesake:
Comforting. Well-balanced. Leaves a lasting impression. Best enjoyed slowly, preferably with someone who appreciates the finer things, like soulful eyes and a dog who knows exactly how to lean into affection.
If you’re looking for a companion who will happily enjoy the outdoors with you, then immediately escort you back inside for quality petting time, Bourbon is ready to take his place by your side.
