Meet Hank, the gentle giant who’s basically a four-legged teddy bear with a wagging tail and a heart full of love! 🐾
This handsome black Lab mix (we think!) is about 4 years old and a total sweetheart who adores people, pets, and snuggles of all kinds. Crouch down, and Hankaroo will trot right over for pets, belly rubs, and maybe even a little wiggle dance just to show his excitement. 💛

Hank is the kind of dog who will always stick by your side—loyal to the core and ready to be your shadow on every adventure. Whether it’s a long walk in the park, a backyard game of fetch, or a weekend hike, Hank is happiest exploring the world with his favorite humans right by his side. He’s a big, goofy companion who loves to be part of the action, but he’ll also plop down beside you for a snuggle after a day full of fun. Loyal, loving, and endlessly playful, Hank is the ultimate adventure buddy who will make every moment brighter.
Hank is a goofball with dogs—sometimes he plays the polite “big brother” and gently reminds his pup pals to give him space, and sometimes he’s a silly playmate running full tilt with a wagging tail. He’d do best with a calm or gentle female dog buddy who can keep up with his loveable antics. And cats? Hank-a-roo is totally cat-tolerant! He sniffed, explored, and even snuggled near Biggie the cat like a total gentleman.
He’d be amazing with older kids who can handle his big, goofy energy and love him for all his playful, silly ways. Hank loves romping outdoors and exploring, but he’s also learning to enjoy leash walks, especially when accompanied by treats and a little encouragement. While he could adapt to an apartment if he gets plenty of exercise, he truly shines in a home with a yard to run, play, and soak up all the love.
Hank-a-lanche, Big Hug Hank, or Hankaroo (take your pick!) is a giant goofball, a snuggle bug, and the sweetest companion you could ask for. He’s ready to bring wagging tails, laughter, and endless cuddles into his forever home—and maybe even a few “big brother” lessons for his new doggy friends. 🐶💛

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
