💙 Meet Rex — Your Big, Gray, Gentle Couch-Companion! 💙
Rex is a four-year-old, silver-gray pitty/staffy mix (no promises!) with the softest face, the sweetest eyes, and one adorable white chest spot like he’s wearing a tiny tuxedo. He’s a big boy, but he is all softness — gentle, people-loving, toy-obsessed, treat-motivated, and genuinely just a really, really good dog.
He loves affection (especially if you squat down and invite him in), but he’s also totally fine doing his own thing. He’s great at entertaining himself with toys, sniffing around, or just relaxing nearby. Think “big soft house hippo who knows how to chill.”'

Rex LOVES people. He’s friendly, loving, and easygoing with everyone he meets. He has lived around kids — even toddlers — and does wonderfully with them. He’s sweet, respectful, and has that calm, steady vibe that families love.
Rex is a confident guy who does well with dogs, especially when introduced slowly and thoughtfully. He lives with 8–10 dogs in foster and does great — once the leashes are off, he tends to do his own thing and stay pretty aloof. His ideal dog companion is a chill, low-energy female who doesn’t pester him or get in his face. He’s not a big player, but he coexists very nicely. He can also absolutely be a solo dog. He’d be perfectly happy being your one-and-only big lovebug.
Rex is a no for cats unless there’s an overnight test and he proves otherwise. He was avoidant at first, but when the cat ran, he got just a little too interested for our comfort— so unless he stays with a cat for a few days and truly settles, we’re calling him cat-free to keep everyone safe.
Rex is apartment friendly! For a big dude, Rex is surprisingly easy. He’s quiet, gentle, great on leash when you’re actually walking (he just likes to sniff if you stand still), and overall pretty low-key. He could totally live in an apartment with an active family — a couple walks, some sniffing, some toys, and he’d be ready to curl up for a couch nap with his favorite person.
Rex is handsome, sweet, steady, gentle, toy-loving, and so easy to be around. He’s the kind of dog who brings calm, happy energy into a home… and also carries his toys around like he’s showing them off. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart.
If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who’s equal parts handsome, goofy, affectionate, and low-fuss — Rex is your guy.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
