Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue

Meow! My name is Kara, and my estimated birthday is February 16, 2024. I’m a beautiful orange tabby girl embracing my second chance at life.

I was rescued from a home with over 30 other cats, where my human was very sick and struggled to keep up with care for all of us. Because of that, I didn’t get the one-on-one attention every kitty deserves. When I first arrived at Forever Love, I was very scared and unsure of this new world—but I’ve been making gentle, steady strides ever since.

I’m still learning to trust, and Churu treats are a big help (I’m very food-motivated!). I’m also quite vocal and won’t hesitate to let you know what I want or need. Sometimes I might act like I want pets, then shy away when a hand reaches for me—please don’t take it personally. I truly do want love; I just wasn’t touched and petted enough before, so I’m learning how to accept and return affection now. The volunteers and I are working on it together every day.

You can usually find me at Kitty Corner, hoping someone notices my potential and gives me the patience, kindness, and love I’ve been waiting for. With time and understanding, I know I’ll blossom into a wonderful companion.

Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!  Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm.  All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many  that are not posted yet.  Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives.  No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so).  We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.
