Meet Bean — The Bravest Little Snowflake!

Hi, I’m Bean — a 3-month-old kitten with a tender heart and a brave spirit. I may be shy when we first meet, but don’t let that fool you — I’ve been the bravest of my whole group since the day I arrived. If you approach me gently, I’ll let you pet me, and once I realize you’re safe, I’ll purr my soft little purr just for you.

I’m playful but calm, the kind of kitten who loves spring toys, rolling balls, and a good scratch on the post. I don’t totally relax when I’m held yet — I’m still figuring that part out — but I am brave enough to try, and I’m getting more comfortable every day.

If you’re looking for a quiet, courageous little companion to grow with, I’m your boy. Adopt me, and I’ll show you that bravery can be soft, sweet, and covered in warm winter fur. â¤ï¸

Their adoption process

1.
Meet the Pet

We have cats available at PetSmart Rockwall, Rowlett and Wylie (Texas) as well as in foster homes.

2.
Sign Adoption Contract

You can take home a pet the same day you meet them and decide to adopt.

3.
Pay Fee

Our adoption fees vary based on age, and range from $100-$150. We sometimes have grant funding available to lower fees.

Additional adoption info

All animals in the care of FRAs have their annual vaccinations, sterilization, FeLV/FIV test for cats, and a microchip. They have also received dewormer and flea preventative. While an adoption contract is required once you select a pet, there is no need to be pre-approved to adopt. You can meet and adopt a pet at the same time

More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 by 4 volunteers who wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter. Our organization has grown to over 300 volunteers, and with this growth, we now support four municipal shelters and operate our own cat rescue program.

Our mission is to provide resources, programs and education to promote adoption and care of homeless pets in our community. FRAs’ vision is a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving forever home. We are a 100% all volunteer run organization, and our ability to help homeless animals depends on donations from the community and grant funding.

Our organizational programs include operating the volunteer program for both shelters, providing funding for heartworm treatments and emergency medical care, accepting cats from the shelter and citizens into our foster-based cat rescue, supporting TNR/SNR efforts for community cats and most recently funding dog transport initiatives. Our volunteers spend thousands of hours socializing and marketing the animals for adoption, which increases the number of animals with a positive outcome. FRAs has helped countless pets avoid euthanasia, find their forever homes and live longer, healthier lives.
