All of our dogs are in foster homes and not in one single kennel location. Adoption events is the best way to meet several of our dogs at once.
Harley is a 5 yo Black and Tan male German Shepherd weighing approximately 70 pounds. Although he is new to our organization, he recently completed several months in foster care where he received much needed attention to overcome a tough period in his life. During this time, he proved himself to be an exceptional family member and is now ready to join his forever home.
This boy displays all that is ideal in a canine: beauty, stamina, cheerful enthusiasm, and cordial grace with his people and fellow pack mates. From day one, he initiated play with his foster mate (see Cadence), navigating himself with respect. Initially, she came on a bit strong, but he hung in there and quickly adjusted play styles that accommodates each other well. He finds it natural to share his space, beds, and chew toys taking care not to overstep his boundaries.
In the home setting, Harley has respectful house manners as if he read a book on Home Etiquette. He is occasionally busy, searching and anticipating action like a social butterfly but will eventually settle on his dog bed, chew on a Nyla bone, or lay close to his person. In the morning, Harley eagerly awaits his walks where he has learned to ignore common triggers along the way. Any invitation to jump in the car is welcomed without hesitation where he will lie down quietly. Despite his love for all activities, he does well when left alone with his foster mate while his human is away. In his previous foster setting, he thrived in the company of children, squeaky toys, and discovered a new passion for playing ball. It was noted that Harley previously suffered from allergies; however, this appears well managed at this time with common limited ingredient kibble diet.
Harley is housebroken and accustomed to using a dog door. He readily enters his crate at night where he snoozes quietly. Few dogs come so well-natured with a strong desire to please. He will drop everything in a snap if you ask for his attention as if to remind you that you are his priority in his world. This guy is yearning and ready to fulfill your expectations with his warm endearing soul.
