My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Garrett 💙

Garrett is a handsome 1-year-old Siamese who came to us through no fault of his own. He was lovingly surrendered due to his previous owner’s health—a heartbreaking decision made only to ensure Garrett could continue to have the best life possible. He was clearly very loved and well cared for, and it shows.

Garrett can be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, he is an absolute snugglebug. He loves affection and will give you the cutest little head bumps as a not so subtle request for pets. Being loved is truly his favorite thing.

You may hear Garrett grumble quite frequently but don’t worry! It’s all an act. He likes to pretend he’s 15 lbs of big and tough, but he doesn’t mean a thing by it and is all sweetness underneath.

If you’re looking for a cuddly companion with a little personality and a lot of love to give, Garrett is ready to charm his way into your heart and your home. 🐾

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
