My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet this precious little Dachshund dream 💜

This 2-year-old female Dachshund is as sweet as she looks — and those big brown eyes will melt you the second you meet her. She came into rescue after experiencing a prior back-end injury, which leaves her with some mild special needs, but it does nothing to slow down her love for life, people, and snacks.

She is crate trained, appears to be house trained, and gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and every human she meets. She truly believes strangers are just friends she hasn’t been pet by yet. She also walks off-leash and stays close, happy just to be by your side.

Her favorite things include: • Eating (enthusiastically)
• Napping in cozy spots
• Belly rubs and ear scratches (non-negotiable)
• Going outside to potty
• Being loved

She’s a low-maintenance, big-hearted little girl who would thrive in a home ready to offer patience, understanding, and lots of affection. In return, she promises loyalty, cuddles, and that classic Dachshund devotion that makes them impossible to forget.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who just wants to be cherished, this sweet girl is ready to be your forever 🐾💕

SGER FAQs

We are a 501c3 non profit rescue.
Your information in our application is not shared and is protocol for adoption. Here is the application link.
https://shorturl.at/syCM3

All of our dogs have age-appropriate vaccinations, if over 6 months old are spayed or neutered, if under 6 months adopter is responsible for having that done between 6 and 10 months of age (we can offer some low cost options for you), microchipped with lifetime free membership, dewormed and will go home with a 3 to 5 day dewormer as well. Any medical conditions known are disclosed to the best of our ability.

Adults are heartworm tested and status is disclosed. Please don't let HW positive dogs deter you. Please ask us and we will gladly explain the slow kill process!

If you are out of state or out of area that is not a problem, we do offer relay transport for a small additional fee to cover health certificates required for private interstate travel and additional vetting required.

We run solely on donations and house 100 plus dogs and 10 plus horses at any given time. Please be patient but if you do not hear from us within 48 hours of submitting your application please reach out. We are human and we do get very busy sometimes. Our email is Sgequinerescue@gmail.com you can email when you put your app in or wait the 48 hours. Just know some dogs have a lot of apps so the sooner the better in those cases.

Adoption fees range from $150 to $400

We do not offer discounts of any kind. Adoption fees are set fees and not negotiable. These fees help with vetting on current and future animals we take in.

We do not offer walk through "choose a dog/puppy" type experience. We are partially foster-based, we can help with matching dogs if you have something you have in mind so feel free to call us. You can meet before adoption but that is ONLY done with approved applicants.

Thank you for considering giving a rescue dog a chance. You don't just save one life, you save 2!
