Coyote is a sweet, laid-back senior gentleman - the perfect low-key companion who's ready to retire into a loving forever home. Coyote is fully housebroken, crate trained, walks well on leash, has impeccable house manners, and comes when called—he has the personality of a Golden Retriever, a real people-pleaser! With a secure 5-foot fence and his easygoing nature, he's a dream for any household. Coyote can be placed with dogs, cats, and kids of all ages, making him incredibly versatile. He's been exposed to indoor cats and kittens and is so gentle that he'll snooze peacefully even when a playful kitten nibbles his feet and tail! He coexists peacefully with other dogs, happily playing if they initiate but otherwise content to do his own thing. This social butterfly has attended cross country meets, bike races, trips to Lowe's, church picnics, and even goes to work with his foster dad weekly, charming everyone he meets. He's wonderfully gentle with teenagers (who are constantly around) and has had sweet interactions with small children, patiently accepting pets and even the occasional hair pull with grace. Coyote loves spending time in the backyard watching the world go by, following his people around the house, napping at their feet, enjoying his chew toys, and meeting new friends. This low-energy guy would thrive in many different environments, either as part of an active family or as a beloved only child. His calm demeanor makes him an ideal companion for older adopters who want a gentle soul who won't jump or pull. Despite having seen some of life's hardest moments, Coyote remains kind, loving, and gentle, making the best of every single day and inspiring everyone around him to do the same. This remarkable boy is ready to fill his forever home with joy and unconditional love!

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
