My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Molly!

This sweet senior has been through a few homes in her day due to no fault of her own, and is really eager for her forever home to discover her and take her home! Molly is a shy, large and sweet lady, who loves to make biscuits for her best friends, and will kneed her way right into your heart. She is still quite unsure being here at the center, so spends much of her day hiding in her house, making sure to peak her head out to see whos there, and if its okay to come out!

She is easily won over with temptations and wet food, and will make great progress with a committed home who can utilize positive reinforcement to encourage her outgoing side! We think she would ideally appreciate a quiet home, and may not be too thrilled with young children in her space.

Molly is a big gal, so hopes for a home who can help her get to a healthy weight, and maybe also offer her a large and comfy litterbox she can easily get into! She is a very nice girl and will make a great cozy companion to the right home!

Come on by the Comox Center to meet her today! We are open from 12-4 Tuesday to Saturday for viewing! :)

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
