My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Violet is a stunning, silky soft rabbit who came into the SPCA with her companion, Veruca, when they were sadly abandoned. These lovely ladies are now ready to hop their way into a fur-ever home. These sweethearts are a bit shy at first but given a little time to adjust to and they will happily come up to greet you and see what tasty treats you might have for them, or enjoy some pets. Violet and Veruca are usually found having a little snack or stretched out napping together and are hoping to find a new home where they can stay together as they are happiest in each others company. Rabbits require ample space and enrichment, a specialized diet, and care. Adopters should show knowledge of rabbit husbandry to give Violet and Veruca the best life possible. Violet and Veruca can't wait to find their new family. Could it be you?
*THESE LADIES ARE CURRENTLY AWAITING THEIR SPAY SURGERIES

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
